Taste of delicacy: Fine dishes from around the world

Just like most people in this world, i love to eat. I really enjoy food (even though some delicious tempting food e.g. junk food are really not healthy but i cant help myself sometimes). When my family and I go traveling to different places around the world, we like to try different types of traditional dishes. Food is always a huge part of our vacation.

Through the years, food does not only play the role of fulfilling our physical needs. In fact, for those who are financially capable, food and dining has been a lifestyle. People are willing to travel around the world and spend loads of money to be able to try the uniqueness of different tastes of food and drinks. Those food-lovers are willing to explore different corners of the world in order to experience different taste of nourishments. The way people serve food have also changed. Professional chefs not only produce food with exquisite taste, but also food with stunning appearances. Food is just like art. Maybe physical appearance is one of the factors that could add sensations and stimulates the appetite of those food-lovers.

I, myself have tried several different dishes in the past. These familiarity is very much delightful. Even the most diminutive taste that my tongue has savored has not been forgotten until now. Several dishes are very much a requisite to be tasted by every capable individual from various backgrounds. Few examples of pertaining dishes are as follows:

1. Foie Gras

Foie gras [fwɑ gʁɑ] is french for "fat liver". Foie gras is the liver of a duck or goose that is specially fattened from from birth. Foie gras has been one of the most popular French dish . Foie gras can be served as a whole, but it is more commonly found to be served as part of mousse or parfait, or even just as an accompaniment to be eaten with toast or steak. It has a rich and tender feel with fat buttery taste that would make you crave for more. But i think it is best to be served just as little pieces for better enjoyment of the dish.

2. Abalone

Abalone is one of chinese cuisine's most popular delicacy. Abalone is the meat of a kind of shell fish that are often found in South America, Africa, and Japan. It also varies in sizes , quality, and also prices. The most expensive of all the abalones are the ones from japan. It is most tender and the size is just ideal. Abalone needs a long time to be fully cooked(2 days) and usually it is served with oyster sauce.

3. Bird's nest soup

Bird's nest soup is made from swallow's nest. It is one of the most expensive animal products that are consumed by human. It has been a traditional dish in China for more than 4 centuries and is still eaten until now. Its texture is gelatinous and it sometimes are also cooked as a sweet cold dessert.

4. Boiled maine lobster

These lobsters are mainly found in the Massachusetts, USA. The size of these lobsters range from 20-60 cm and weights about 4 kg. One of the best i have tasted is from Palms restaurant in Boston, MA. They usually serves along a butter dip to enhance the taste of the juicy lobster meat.

5. Caviar

Caviar is salted eggs of certain type of fish that are mainly found in the Caspean Sea. It is eaten as garnish or spread, usually as an appetizer. The most expensive of all the type is beluga caviar. In the west, caviar is believed to be the symbol of luxury and wealth because of its high price.
